Jeannie Sherwood
I am multi-disciplinary designer with a portfolio ranging in Interior architectural design, interior decorating, lighting design, custom furniture design, graphic design, corporate identity branding and art direction. I have planted my roots in sunny Pretoria in Gauteng, South Africa after a wonderful childhood spend at the seaside in Durban and game reserves in Limpopo. My travels across Europe and Asia, living multiple provinces in South Africa- and studying two design degrees- have influenced my aesthetics and adaptability in my designs.
With nine years of experience in the residential and corporate fields and as the owner of JSD Interiors, I enjoy the process of designing as well as the relationships I build with my clients. In 5 years, JSD Interiors has achieved a few awards: Last year, 2019 we won a London Build Award for Best Boutique Interior Designer , we have featured in magazines like SA Homeowner, Homify, placed internationally on HGTV’s Top Homes Around The World and we have a future television appearance on the Home Channel in the works. We strive for excellence in every project no matter the size! You name it, we will design it!

My Design Philosophy
As an avid aquascaper, traveler and orchid collector, my designs focus on nature-centric relationships between the built environment and people. “There is an unequivocal connection that we have with nature, it is seen as ‘the perfect design’, it resonates with something instinctual, something deep inside of us”. I hold a strong belief that our surroundings directly impact our productivity, wellbeing, and sense of identity- everything that surrounds us has been touched by a designer- so the details matter! This concept feeds into her personal philosophy that designs should not only serve our functional needs, but also strive to be sustainable & beautiful.
